About Paul Punzo

Paul Punzo is a visual artist in Lawrence, KS who works with linoleum block carvings, watercolors, silkscreen, spray paint, and india inks to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

For Paul, printmaking isn't about fast reproduction of images. The beauty of printmaking is in the repetitive process, and the way it requires the artist to reimagine the print with each layout of blocks, each application of ink, and each pressing of block to paper.

Each print begins with a primary image which is then multiplied through interchanging backgrounds + layers + colors to achieve unique individual images with familiar overall themes that evolve through the process of pressing each piece. The end result is a series of Punzo Prints that emit vibrant + spontaneous calls to our sense of hope and wonder.
